Interested in joining the lab?
If interested in joining the lab, you should email me with a brief overview of your research interests and experiences and a short CV or resume. I encourage applications from motivated and passionate individuals with interest in tropical ecology, community ecology, primatology and/or conservation biology. Ideally, we should share similar research interests, but I am also open to new ideas. Fieldwork experience would be ideal. You may learn more about my mentoring philosophy here.
Prospective PhD students: Applications for the Integrative Biology PhD programs at UC Berkeley are usually due the first week of December. You may find more information here. Graduate student applicants are also encouraged to apply for external fellowships, which usually provide stipend and research expense allowance (some ideas here). Feel free to reach out if you need feedback on your fellowship application before applying.
Postdoc: I do not currently have a postdoc position available in my lab at this point. But I welcome independent postdoctoral scholars and I am happy to advise any interested individuals on fellowship & grant applications. I have listed here some fellowship resources that you may find useful.
Finally, we often have an opportunity for Malagasy students based in Madagascar to gain field experience and learn various techniques typically used in ecological research, while working with the field team in our data collection efforts. The lab also host visiting students / interns pursuing Master in other universities.
